| LiteRamp ™ first introduced the 2-piece portable wheelchair ramp in 2003. Since then, other manufacturers have copied our design numerous times. Today, almost all portable wheelchair ramps 6-feet or longer are produced in 2-piece style. 2-piece ramps require less lifting weight than 1-piece ramps, which is a major advantage for handicap uses. A 2-piece LiteRamp ™ can be separated widthwise along the ramp's length into two independent pieces, each having half the weight of the fully assembled ramp. Each piece then folds length-wise and has two handles to allow it to be carried like a suitcase. A complete ramp is made of two suitcases. Unlike our imitators, LiteRamp ™ wheelchair ramps require no tools nor loose parts to lock or unlock the two pieces (suitcases). Our ramps are also strong enough to support the weight of a 3-wheel scooter. LiteRamp ™ 2-piece wheelchair ramps are available in 6-foot, 7-foot, 8-foot and 10-foot lengths.
